Day 19 – Yeojin Seong
1. What do you do for a living? (occupation/field of study)
I work as a freelance UX/UI designer.
2. How do you like to spend your free time?
When I’m home, I like to spend my free time watching variety shows and Youtube videos. When I go out, I love eating at good restaurants with friends and taking long walks after with a full stomach.
3. Share one interesting fact about you that most people don’t know!
I eat with my left hand, but write with my right!
4. Do you have a favorite book in the Bible? If you do, which one is it and why?
I don’t have a favorite book in the Bible at the moment, but the book I’ve read the most is Genesis, particularly in the beginning of each year.
I love reading Genesis because it humbles me as it reminds me of God’s sovereign power over His creations.
5. Is there a verse/passage in the Bible that has significantly impacted your life? If so, which is it and why?
A verse that has significantly impacted my life is Romans 11:36 “For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.”
When I am not in a good place in my life, it is always because I’ve been distant from God. This verse brings me back into His presence, as it helps me remember that my life is a gift from God, that I am living through His providence and grace, and that I live to love and be loved by God and His people.
6. Is there a prayer request that has been on your heart recently? If so, please share with us.
For the longest time, I’ve been stuck in the cycle of being filled and motivated to live for God each Sunday, then gradually forgetting about Him the following week until the next Sunday comes to rescue my weak, defeated soul. As these weeks progress, it gets easier to believe in the voice of the enemy telling me that God has run out of patience and a forgiving heart for me. I would like to be prayed for faith to trust in God’s unending love and mercy, and His power to transform my heart and life again.
7. Tell us about how you met Christ? (feel free to share a brief testimony)
Growing up in a non-Christian family, it wasn’t a smooth sailing journey to becoming a Christian. But God made it possible through His creative and miraculous ways, placing and using His amazing people and unexpected situations in my life. The moment that I realized God had this perfect plan from the beginning of my life to meet me in the perfect moment that He did in my college ministry, I could no longer deny God and His love for me.
