God Is Watching over You : Anonymous

 

Philippians 4:11-13 (NIV)

11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.


Today’s Testimony

I am in middle school. In my school, I am usually known as a hard-working and a well-behaved student by my classmates and teachers.

A few weeks ago, something came up that could have ruined my reputation, something that could have caused a huge drop in my grades. I was really worried about it, because as a student I feel like my life’s goal should be to get good grades, get into good colleges, and eventually have a successful career. This is why I get really upset when my grades fall below 90s. I would feel like I am not doing my job as a student.

There were rumors spreading about me across my grade and along the teachers, which could have impacted my grades. I was really worried, so I told my parents what happened that day. They comforted me and told me not to worry about what will happen to me so much. They also told me that I should think about what I do and be careful on my actions, and to not worry so much about my grades.

I am grateful that nothing bad has happened to me or to my grades because of that. But there is something more important that I have learned. I have come to learn that in life, grades aren’t everything and that God will be by my side no matter what. God is always watching me and protecting me even through the smallest things in life. I want to live without being so worried about myself and my future. Instead, I want to focus on God and think about all that He has done for me because He loves me and cares for me.

For Your Reflection
Life is full of surprises, both good and bad. I am sure you already know that we cannot always prevent bad things from happening to us regardless of how hard we think and try. Eventually, we would have to accept that we have no control over our lives. Part of our journey here on earth is then about learning to embrace that reality and instead turning to the one who does have control: God. Although there will be times when we are confused, upset, or even angry at what life throws at us, let us not forget that God is always in control. You may not be exempt from pain and suffering, but God will always be there for you to comfort you and to give you the strength that you need.
