Day 30 – Andrew Lee
1. What do you do for a living? (occupation/field of study)
I work part time at a supermarket.
2. How do you like to spend your free time?
I like spending time playing games with friends and playing basketball. I also like watching The Office.
3. Share one interesting fact about you that most people don’t know!
I have a nickname of either Andron or Moe. I got the nickname Andron from when I went to Guatemala and they misspelled my name. I got the nickname Moe because I look and act like a "Moe".
4. Do you have a favorite book in the Bible? If you do, which one is it and why?
My favorite book of the Bible is Numbers because it was the first book that I read from start to finish. It was during Bible Reading Fellowship so I was able to learn and understand how to interpret the scripture better.
5. Is there a verse/passage in the Bible that has significantly impacted your life? If so, which is it and why?
Proverbs 3: 5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
This bible verse was a theme for a retreat that I attended. I really like this verse because during that time, I was spiritually dry and stopped going to church for a couple of years. I stopped going to church because I just thought that as long as I know that God is real, that I was saved. The bible verse and retreat changed my perspective because it showed me that I can't do anything by myself and that I need Him in my life.
6. Is there a prayer request that has been on your heart recently? If so, please share with us.
To listen to what God has in plan for me and be reminded of Him each and everyday.
7. Tell us about how you met Christ? (feel free to share a brief testimony)
I've been going to church my whole life but I don't think I really knew who God was until I went to Guatemala for a mission trip. I didn't go to Guatemala with a proper heart because I blamed God for all the stress and financial problems my family faced. Our mission's trip was located at a school, where we taught kids English and then went to different churches to do "vbs" activities. As our team went to different churches each day, I was able to see so many kids who had nothing, but still came to worship God. I saw how happy they were praising God even though they didn't have much. Seeing this realized how selfish I was. I thought to myself "how come I am blaming God for these things when the kids there are going through the same or worse things and still worship God faithfully"? The mission's trip showed me how powerful God's love is and made me realize that I never really tried to have a connection with God. From that moment on, I was able to see all the amazing works that God had in store for me!
