Day 34 – Niki Song
1. What do you do for a living? (occupation/field of study)
Currently doing missions! I am working for a missions organization called Youth With A Mission (YWAM) out of the Hawaii Kona base.
2. How do you like to spend your free time?
My free time I like to cook, eat and play basketball.
3. Share one interesting fact about you that most people don’t know!
I am currently looking to try to go to Taiwan. Currently the borders are not stable and I am looking to try to be in Taiwan by 2023 August!
4. Do you have a favorite book in the Bible? If you do, which one is it and why?
My favorite book of the Bible is probably Numbers. Although not the most glamorous it has a special place in my heart. Brings me back to when I first met Jesus and also my first Bible Reading Fellowship!
5. Is there a verse/passage in the Bible that has significantly impacted your life? If so, which is it and why?
John 21:18 - “Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you used to dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go.”
This was the verse that I felt a calling to do ministry. It has always impacted me and often helps me to be focused and understand the reason why I am doing what I am doing today!
6. Is there a prayer request that has been on your heart recently? If so, please share with us.
A prayer request I have for myself is to find a more holistic view of the gospel into my life. Applying the gospel to not just certain parts of my life or being Christ centered in only certain situations, but throughout my life. Right now there are very distinct seasons of my life where I am very busy to where I don’t have a lot going on. Trying to find the right daily attitudes and convictions can be difficult. Prayer is a big part in seeing those changes.
7. Tell us about how you met Christ? (feel free to share a brief testimony)
I met Christ 3 years ago in January at Grace church’s Winter Retreat. While receiving prayer, I heard God’s voice for the first time. “Where have you been?” was the first thing I heard from God and it was crushing. I felt all my sins weighing on me. It was unbearable. “I have been waiting.” In the same moment God showed me He had never left me. My sins did not push Him away from me but rather He was with me in all those moments.
