Day 13 - Raell Kim
Is there a specific Bible passage or verse that comes to mind in the context of “Less of Me and More of Him”?
Job 8:7 And though your beginning was small, your latter days will be very great.
The Bible verse that comes to mind when thinking of “Less of Me and More of Him” is Job 8:7. This verse reminds me that although I may be weak and helpless in the moment, with the proper sacrifice and commitment to God, my life will end up as it is meant to be. I don’t think “very great” in this verse means material abundance or wealth but rather the riches that the naked eye cannot see. This verse encourages me since what I seek cannot be bought with money.
Briefly explain which areas of your life you find most difficult to surrender to Christ.
I find it hard to give up control to God. I want to be in control, as others do, but life often plays out in unexpected ways that we cannot always prepare for. We must take things as they come and trust that God has a plan that we may not be aware of. Knowing this, the answer seems simple: give up some autonomy for a clear spiritual path. But that is easier said than done.
Share the areas of your life that have shifted from self-centeredness to Christ-centeredness.
In my walk with Christ, especially recently, I’ve learned to be more mindful of others. I was, and still am, so concerned with my own life that I forget others are also going through the same things I am— the same obstacles, ups and downs, and feelings of being lost in this world. We are more alike than different, but I tend to forget that. I tend to dehumanize others in my mind, which is a problem. However, there has been improvement, thanks to God and Grace Church.
What are some practical ways you can display Christ to those around you?
Actions speak louder than words. Prayer is important, but outreach and leading by example are equally important. Reaching out to friends and strangers in difficult times is a great way to bring others closer to Christ.
