Our Beliefs
"For
other foundation can no man lay than that is laid which is Jesus
Christ" (1 Corinthians 3:11)
The following is a summary of our beliefs at Grace
Bible Fellowship Church
Our complete doctrinal statement can be found by clicking here
The
Bible
The Bible is the Word of God, inspired and without
error (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
The
Trinity
There is one God existing eternally in 3 persons, the
Father, Son
and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19)
Jesus
Christ
Jesus Christ is God (John 1:1) (John 10:27-30)
Jesus Christ was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:18)
Jesus
Christ lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15)
Jesus
Christ died as an atonement for our sins (1
Peter 3:18)
Jesus
Christ was bodily resurrected (Luke
24:1-8)
Jesus
Christ ascended to the Right Hand of the Father (Acts
1:6-11) (Hebrews
1:1-3)
Jesus
Christ will come again in power and glory (Mark
13:26) (John
14:1-4)
The
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin (John
16:7-11)
The
Holy Spirit regenerates
the Believer and seals them until the day of redemption (John
14:16-17) (Ephesians
4:30)
Man
Man was created in the image of God (Genesis
1:26-27)
Man
willfully
sinned causing death to pass to men (Genesis
3:6-7) (Romans
5:12)
The
unsaved are doomed to eternal damnation (2
Thessalonians 1:8-9)
Salvation
Salvation is a gift of God's grace and cannot be obtained
through works
(Ephesians 2:8-10)
A
sinner must
repent of their sins and turn to Christ as their only means of
salvation (John 14:6) (2 Peter 3:9)
Once
saved, the believer is redeemed by the blood of Christ (Romans
5:8-12)
The
Believer is eternally secure
in Christ (John 3:16) (John 5:24)
Salvation
cannot be lost, but a Believer can be
out of fellowship with God (1 John 1:5-10)
The
Church
The Church is the body of Christ and is made up of all
Believers (Ephesians 1:22-23)
The
Church is to worship the Lord, edify Believers and preach the
Gospel to the world (Hebrews 10:24-25) (Mark
16:15)
Believers
are to identify with a local Church that is faithful to the
Word of God (Acts 2:42)
Believers
are to support their local Church with
their time, talents, gifts and treasures (Matthew
6:19-21)
Ordinances
Baptism is to follow salvation and is done by
immersion (Acts 8:34-39)
The
Lord's Supper is only for the Believer and is
a remembrance of Christ's death (I Corinthians 11:23-28)
Christian
Life
The Believer must allow Christ to be the Lord of their life
(Romans
12:1-2) (Galatians 2:20)
The
Believer's life must be filled with thanksgiving, prayer and
scripture study (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) (2 Timothy 2:15)
Last
Things
The Church will be raptured prior to 7 years of
tribulation (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) (Revelation 3:10)
The
tribulation will be followed by the Second Coming of Christ (Matthew
24:3-31) (Revelation
19:11-16)
Christ
will rule for 1000 years and put all enemies under his feet (1
Corinthians 15:24-28) (Revelation
20:1-3)
At
the end of the 1000 years, Satan will lead a final revolt, but will be
cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:7-10)
The
unsaved will then be
judged for their works, and all will be cast into the lake of fire (Revelation
20:11-15)
Believers
will face the Judgment Seat of Christ where rewards will be given for
faithful service (2 Corinthians 5:10)
Believers
will spend eternity in the presence of the Lord (Revelation
21:3-7)
